Divorce and Family Law in Orange County.

Once the parties litigate custody and the court enters a custody order based on the best interest of a minor child, the court will not revisit the order unless the requesting party can show that a change of circumstances has occurred. The change of circumstances must be significant so that the moving party can prove that a different arrangement is in the child's best interest. The purpose of the changed circumstances rule is to foster judicial economy by preventing re-litigation of the same issues and to foster stable custody arrangements for minor children.
